Genêts
2006
Cuvée 2006 13.5 °
Grape varieties: 80% Clairette, 20% Grenache blanc.
Harvest: Manual harvest sorted on a sorting table.
Grape variety: for our first white wine is "Lady" Clairette. The vines growing in white clay soil along side the wine cellar were planted in the 80's. In spring hundreds of scotch broom flaunt their sweet scented yellow flowers all around the field of Clairette grapes!
So it is the wine takes its name from these beautiful flowers, in French genêts.
Tasting Notes: Pale yellow robe with sparkling green apple tints. On the nose are citrus and broom flower (Genêt in French, the name of the estate) aromas.
In the mouth is a lovely balance of fruit that is fresh and sun-ripened, a crisp wine that is pleasant and easy to drink.
